When I was in New York, I was determined to capture some sunset photos at relatively iconic locations in the city. With only two nights in town, I had to prioritise what scenes I would try and capture, and plan to make the most of the opportunity. I knew that one of these had to be a skyline shot. After some research and discussing with some friends, the Top of the Rockefeller Centre was the best option, allowing me to capture the iconic Empire State Building within the photo itself.

Since I was travelling alone, I had no problems dedicating a couple of hours to the whole experience, so there was plenty of time for me to look around at the concrete jungle that is New York before I eventually picked out a spot to settle into as city turned from day to night.
